Chapter 464

Bagot let out a sharp breath. Seeing her look at him like he was a stray dog, he forced a tight smile. “You still haven’t answered my question. Why were you walking out of the gynecology department the other day?”

Damaris rolled her eyes hard. “I’m a woman. Women go to the gynecologist. It’s completely normal. I wasn’t feeling well, so I went to the doctor. Why are you so obsessed with this? What exactly is your endgame here?”

Remembering Nathalie’s theory, she turned to face him squarely. “Bagot, do you have a crush on me or something?”

“Ha!” Bagot barked out a single, sharp laugh as if it was the most ridiculous thing he’d ever heard. “Are you out of your mind? Our families have ties, and I just didn’t want to see you making stupid mistakes. Why the hell would I like you? I literally see you as a sister.”

Strangely, his harsh dismissal made Damaris instantly relax. As long as he didn’t have feelings for her, she could handle anything. If he did, things would be a nightmare.

She looked straight ahead. “Alright, you got your answer. Now get out of my car.”

Bagot didn’t budge, his eyes fixed on her. “You were just feeling sick? Seriously?”

Damaris lost what little patience she had left. “If you don’t believe me, hire a private investigator. You’re acting like a total psycho.”

Bagot raised an eyebrow. “Fine. I’ll drop it.” He settled deeper into the seat. “My car is out of gas. Give me a ride.”

Damaris’s expression darkened. “We’re on a main street. There are cabs everywhere. Hail one and go wherever you want. I have things to do, and chauffeuring you isn’t one of them!”

Chapter 464

Without a word, Bagot pulled out his phone and transferred money to t

account.

A notification chimed loudly: PayPal transfer received: $1,500.

Bagot glanced at her. “Are you going to drive me now?”

Damaris glared at him. “Are you sick in the head?”

Another chime: PayPal transfer received: $15,000.

‘You really need psychiatric help!”

PayPal transfer received: $75,000!

‘Where to, Boss?” Damaris flipped her attitude in a heartbeat, flashing him a bright, customer-service smile.

Bagot let out a disdainful scoff and rattled off an address. It was 3lueNight, an exclusive club where he had a dinner meeting.

‘You got it,” Damaris chirped. She threw the car into gear and zipped toward BlueNight.

‘Money-grubbing little…” Bagot muttered.

Damaris kept her blinding smile plastered on. “Whatever you say, Boss,”

Who would say no to free money? Seventy-five grand was her allowance for the entire month!

Bagot gave her a sidelong glance, then reached over and pinched her cheek hard. “Stop smiling like that. It’s hideous.”

Damaris was barely holding back her rage but forced herself to keep up the act. “Yes, Boss.”

Bagot didn’t say another word. Once they pulled up to the club, he stepped out.

Damaris rolled down the window. “Boss, do you need me to pick you up later tonight?”
