The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 480

Chapter 480

The phone was on speaker, so Daniel heard the automated message clearly. His eyes widened in sheer disbelief.

“Ungrateful little wretch! She actually changed her number! She was playing you the whole time! She never had any intention of coming to see you!”

Camilla stood frozen, clutching the phone, her face completely devoid of color. Suddenly, she broke into a violent coughing fit. A second later, she coughed up a mouthful of blood and collapsed.

“Camilla! Camilla!”

Daniel had been about to scream at her, but seeing her hit the floor, he rushed over, shaking her shoulders. When she didn’t wake up, he frantically dialed 911.

She couldn’t die. If she died, how was he supposed to manipulate Felice or Nathalie? Both of those girls still harbored some affection for Camilla. She absolutely could not die!

After half a month of intensive training, Nathalie’s demeanor had grown noticeably calmer and more grounded. Emerging from the basement, she spotted Sophia walking her grandmother through the garden.

Sophia wore a bright, eager smile, while her grandmother cheerfully pointed out the various flowers and shrubs. She still had delayed reactions-there was no fixing that-but her spirit was improving by the

day.

“Grandma,” Nathalie called out, walking over with a warm smile.

“Nathalie.” Her grandmother paused for a few seconds before turning to her. “Look over there. The osmanthus is blooming.”

Nathalie followed her gaze to the delicate, vibrant golden blossoms. Walking over to the older woman, she asked softly, “Are you tired?”

After a beat, her grandmother replied, “No. The air is so nice today, and the sun feets wonderful. She paused again. “Sophia is such a good girl. So sweet. She’s been making me laugh all morning.”

Sophia flushed, offering a shy smile. “You’ve done so much for me, Nathalie. I don’t have many skills, so I just try to help wherever I can.”

She gave Nathalie an admiring look before quickly dropping her gaze.

It had only been two weeks since Sophia realized Nathalie and Lance were actually married, not just friends like she had previously claimed. But she also knew they were in the middle of a messy divorce.

Their marriage was completely broken. Sophia kept her thoughts to herself and simply focused on her job.

Nathalie helped her grandmother onto a garden bench, then walked over to pluck a few fresh flowers. She sat down beside her and began weaving them into a crown.

“You were the one who taught me how to make these, remember?”

Her grandmother watched her hands. After a moment, a fond smile appeared. “Of course I remember. You were such a little terror, always running around. I taught you how to weave flower crowns to keep you busy. And once you figured it out, you practically stripped my entire garden bare!”

Nathalie burst out laughing. “Okay, but admit it. Is my crown pretty or not?” She held up the finished piece, looking at her grandmother with bright, expectant eyes.

“It’s beautiful.”

Nathalie gently placed the crown on her grandmother’s head.

“It only looks this good because a beautiful woman is wearing it.”

Her grandmother tapped Nathalie’s forehead affectionately. “Oh, you. Look how old I am. What kind of beauty am?”
