Chapter 506
Hearing Nathalie’s words, Sophia’s eyes flickered wildly.
They were going to get divorced eventually?
Did that mean she still had a chance?
Sophia quickly lowered her head just as the lines on the test materialize ‘Nathalie, look.”
Nathalie glanced down and saw a single pink line. A massive wave of relief crashed over her, releasing all the tension from her body.
Thank God.
She wasn’t pregnant.

She stared at the test for another minute just to be absolutely certain, then tossed it into the trash can.
Her tone instantly lightened. “Come on, let’s go buy some fun stuff for Grandma.”
Sophia nodded eagerly. “Okay!”

When they returned to Lumina Grand, Lance was already home.
His dark eyes locked onto her instantly, his expression unreadable.
Nathalie reflexively averted her gaze, feeling a sudden, inexplicable spike of guilt.
But she quickly caught herself. Why should she feel guilty?
She hadn’t done anything wrong!
Lifting her chin, she walked straight over to Adelaide. She opened her
shopping bags and pulled out a few toys-a complex jigsaw puzzle designed for adults and a handheld gaming console.
Adelaide chuckled at the sight. “You brat, do you think I’m a little kid?”
Nathalie teased. “Who says adults can’t play with these? I actually love this puzzle. Come on, Grandma, play it with me.”
Then, she pulled out a few balls of yarn and some knitting needles, ooking at the older woman pleadingly. “Grandma, I really want a new scarf. Will you knit one for me? You used to make me mittens when I was little.”
Adelaide paused for a few seconds before replying, “I suppose I can kni à scarf, but let’s pass on the toys.”
Nathalie compromised. “We’ll just set them aside for when you feel like ›laying.”
She held up the yarn, excitedly describing the style of scarf she wanted. Adelaide listened intently. Having a task gave her something to focus on and pass the time, and she immediately looked more energetic.
Lance’s gaze kept drifting toward Nathalie, heavy and intense, making the air in the room feel suffocating.
After chatting with Adelaide for a while, Nathalie retreated to her >edroom.
Just as she was about to close the door, a large hand clamped onto the wood, stopping it.
She looked up at him. “Do you need something?”
Lance asked, “Where did you go today?”
Nathalie laughed dryly. “You have people following me, don’t you? Why ask when you already know?”
Lance’s eyes dropped to her stomach. “You bought a pregnancy test.
What was the result?”
Even knowing he had guards trailing her, hearing him say it out loud sparked a flare of irritation.
She swallowed her temper and said flatly, “Not pregnant.”
Lance frowned. “Are you sure?”
‘Ha… even if I was, I’d get rid of it. So don’t get your hopes up,” Nathalie said ruthlessly.
_ance’s expression darkened, his predatory eyes pinning her in place.
