Lance's expression was laced with exhaustion. "He hasn't been able to find her, and Lawrence is on the verge of losing his mind. He demanded to see me, so I had Aaron bring him here. Aaron just told me that when they pulled up to the gate, Damaris was right there. If he hadn't reacted quickly, they would have bumped into each other."

His tone softened slightly. "Do you still think I was just yelling at her for no reason?"

She lowered her gaze, remaining silent for a long moment before finally saying, "You've been in a terrible mood lately. I just assumed you were lashing out."

Lance let out a heavy, weary sigh. "There is no antidote for the poison in Jasper's system."

"What?!"

Nathalie's head snapped up in shock. "Then..."
