The meeting place Freddy arranged was at The Observatory. He stood waiting downstairs at Nathalie's apartment building.
Olivia stood beside him, reluctance written all over her face.
Her expression grew even more rigid the moment she spotted Lance. She even turned as if to walk away.
When Freddy saw Nathalie approach, his expression softened, but a subtle frown creased his forehead the moment he noticed Lance walking beside her.
"Nathalie, let's head upstairs. This kind of thing requires the sincerity of a proper setting like your home," Freddy said warmly.
Nathalie nodded. "Alright."
She led the way into the building, with the others trailing behind her.
Once inside her home, Freddy turned to Olivia, his tone turning incredibly stern. "Apologize."
Olivia ground her teeth together, keeping her mouth shut.
Freddy's tone grew colder. "Don't forget what we discussed earlier."
With immense reluctance, Olivia lowered her head and spat out a stiff, robotic, "I'm sorry."
"Hah!"
Nathalie let out a cold scoff at the pathetic display.
Olivia immediately glared at her. "What's that supposed to mean? I apologized to you. What more do you want?"
"Is that your idea of an apology?"
Lance interjected. His tone was freezing, and his predatory gaze locked onto her.
A suffocating pressure immediately settled over Olivia, making her chest tighten with anxiety. Her eyes welled with tears of frustration.
"I..."
She opened her mouth to argue, but under Lance's overwhelming presence, the words died in her throat.
Lance spoke up again. "Your intentions were malicious. A simple 'sorry' doesn't even begin to make up for the harm you caused my wife."
Olivia snapped her head up to glare at him. "Are you calling me malicious?"
"Are you not?" Lance looked at her with pure indifference. "You hired people to hurt her. How is that not malicious?"
Tears finally spilled down Olivia's cheeks. She bit her lip hard, her voice choking up. "Then what do you want?"
Lance gave her a dismissive once-over, saying, "I'm sure Mr. Charles is incredibly sincere and wishes to properly compensate my wife out of guilt. Since that's the case, you can transfer the next three years of net profits from all the companies under your name into my wife's bank account. That is the only way I'll even begin to acknowledge your sincerity."
"You!"
Olivia's eyes widened in sheer disbelief. "That's robbery! It's blackmail! You're completely out of line!"
"Out of line?" Lance chuckled lightly. "Since you don't approve of my first proposal, I happen to have a second one. The Adams Group's legal team has been rather bored lately. The evidence proving you hired people to attack my wife is irrefutable. If I hand this over to the police, you'll be looking at guaranteed prison time. How does that option sound to you?"
Olivia's tears fell like a broken string of pearls. "You would actually send me to prison?!"
