The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 563

Olivia looked at him as if he were a man who had completely shattered her heart.

Lance furrowed his brow, shooting her an icy glare. "I gave you a choice. How you choose is entirely your own business."

He then shifted his gaze to Freddy, a mocking glint in his striking eyes. "Mr. Charles, you wouldn't say my demands are unreasonable, would you?"

Freddy kept his brow furrowed, the look in his eyes turning heavily complicated behind his glasses. He shot Lance a profound look before turning to Nathalie. "Nathalie, do you feel this is sufficient? If it isn't, you can ask for whatever you want."

Lance let out a low laugh. "You're the ones here to apologize. Why are you asking us to set the terms? Wouldn't that make it seem like we're just picking a fight on purpose?"

Freddy was speechless.

This man was entirely unreasonable!

Yet, from the moment she walked in, Nathalie hadn't said a single word. Her expression remained completely neutral. Even when Freddy spoke directly to her, she showed no reaction, as if she had fully entrusted the entire situation to Lance.

Freddy lowered his gaze, a frustrating mix of emotions churning in his chest.

Weren't they getting a divorce?

Now it seemed like they were perfectly reconciled.

Pushing the thought aside, he looked at Olivia. "Prison or financial compensation. Choose. You made a mistake, so you need to show the proper attitude for an apology. The fact that he isn't pursuing criminal charges is already him showing mercy. Don't push your luck."

Olivia was fueled by a toxic mix of anger and sorrow. Her hands balled tightly into fists.

She never imagined Lance could be so utterly cold and heartless toward her!

Did he really not remember her at all?

He had treated a vicious woman like Felice James with basic courtesy, so why was he treating her with such ruthless cruelty?

It was an incredibly bitter pill to swallow!

Her gaze shifted to Nathalie's face, and suddenly, it all made sense.

Now he was turning around and asking her if it was enough?

How was she supposed to answer that?

She simply gave him a deadpan look.

The corner of Lance's mouth quirked up into a low chuckle. He looked back at Freddy. "My wife has accepted your sincere apology. I'll have someone email you the account details. Make sure the transfer is on time. If there's nothing else, you're free to leave."

Freddy's frown deepened. He looked at Nathalie and asked, "Nathalie, can I speak with you alone for a moment?"

Before Nathalie could even open her mouth, a large hand enveloped hers.

She turned her head, only to see Lance casually assessing Freddy. "Mr. Charles, even though this matter is settled, your track record isn't exactly stellar. If she's alone with you, who knows what other ulterior motives you might have? She finally has a few peaceful days to herself; I won't have her living on edge again."

Freddy's frown tightened into a harsh knot, his voice taking on a frosty edge. "I would never hurt her. You're overthinking this."
