Bagot's eyes were wide. "That's incredible. He was in such a foul mood this morning that Aaron and I were walking on eggshells. But just now, it sounded like he's actually in a good mood?" She just told him off, and he was happy about it?!
Nicol scoffed. "What's the point? My girl is still gonna kick him to the curb eventually."
Bagot rubbed his nose. "Honestly, I don't think it has to end in divorce." His voice tapered off as he sneaked a glance at Nathalie. She was staring out the window, ignoring him. Bagot shut his mouth. It was their marriage, after all; no one else could make the call.
The fishing village was quite large, with modern houses. Under a massive tree at the entrance, a few elderly folks were chatting around a stone table. The GPS ended there, so they had to ask for directions. Bagot hopped out of the car, flashing a bright smile. "Excuse me, do any of you know an Elara Lane?"
"Oh, Dr. Lane," one of the women replied. "Are you here to see her as patients?"
Bagot's eyes lit up. "Yes! Where does she live?"
The woman pointed deeper into the village. "Just keep heading straight. Her house has a big willow tree out front."
"Thank you so much!" Bagot flashed a polite, boyish smile.
The women eyed the handsome young man. "Young man, do you have a girlfriend? What kind of illness are you seeing Dr. Lane for?"
Bagot's smile stiffened slightly. "I'm already married."
