The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 673

Chapter 673

Heaven knew how agonizing it had been for Bagot, pacing outside the door and debating whether to interrupt!

Especially when he heard Lance’s endlessly needy, sticky-sweet “Nat, Nat, Nat it had literally given him goosebumps!

How could one man have two entirely different personalities?

How could the contrast be so insane?

He was practically melting into a puddle for his beloved wife, yet he was colder than ice to his own best friend!

He was so sick of it!

Having delivered his message, Bagot didn’t linger for another second. He turned on his heel and bolted.

The hospital room fell into a deathly silence.

After a long pause, Lance let out a heavy sigh. “Nat, my reputation is entirely ruined.”

Nathalie stared at him in complete bewilderment. She typed, “What are you talking about?”

“My image is gone,” Lance said miserably. “Someone was right there. Why didn’t you warn me?”

She typed back, “I thought you were enjoying yourself. I didn’t have the heart to interrupt you.”

“You need to make this up to me.”

Lance effortlessly shifted into his shameless routine. “My image is destroyed, and it’s all your fault.”

Nathalie was speechless.

She put her phone down, completely refusing to indulge him.

“Nat.”

“Nat, talk to me.”

“Nat, chat with me.”

“Nat… Nat…”

Listening to him chant her name over and over, Nathalie felt her ears going numb. She hurriedly typed, “I’m exhausted. I’m going to rest. Don’t bother me unless it’s an emergency.”

With that, she quickly walked out of the room.

Lance listened as her footsteps faded away. He lowered his head slightly, his face completely devoid of expression. It was impossible to tell what was running through his mind.

Elsewhere, Elara had finished reviewing Lance’s medical charts. She already had a clear treatment plan in mind and was actively discussing it with the hospital’s resident doctors. Suddenly, her phone buzzed with an incoming email.

Madonna: [Ellie, did you see my son? How is he? Are his injuries severe?]

Madonna: [If you’re free right now, could you give me a call? Looking forward to hearing from you.]

Madonna had always been kind to Elara, and Elara genuinely appreciated her. Without a second thought, she dialed the number.

“Hi Madonna, it’s Ellie!” Elara’s cheerful voice rang out as soon as the call connected.

Madonna’s tone was warm and elegant. “Ellie, it’s been so long. How have you been?”

“I’ve been doing great! I heard you came back to the country recently, but then left again?”
