Chapter 674
“Don’t worry, Madonna. I will absolutely do everything I can to heal him,” Elara promised solemnly.
Madonna gave a distracted, perfunctory reply and quickly hung up the phone.
She gripped her phone tightly, her eyes burning with sudden, unadulterated fury.
Dammit!
Nathalie had actually blinded her son!
That woman was a walking disaster!
And Lance was an absolute fool. He knew exactly how dangerous it was to be around her, yet he still refused to leave her side!
What exactly was so great about Nathalie?
Madonna paced back and forth across the room, her heart racing with anxiety. If she just let them carry on like this, it was only a matter of time before Lance ended up dead.
She couldn’t let that happen!
She had to go back!
She had to find a way to drag Nathalie far, far away from her son!
Madonna spun around and marched into the adjoining room. She looked at the middle-aged man resting inside and demanded, “Carl, are you flying back with me?”
Carl furrowed his brow. “Didn’t we agree to go back for the holidays?”
It was still two months until the holidays.
Why the sudden rush?
Madonna’s voice trembled. “Our son is hurt. I need to go see him.”
She paused, her gaze turning complicated as she looked at her husband. “Carl, he’s the only son we have left. If anything else happens to him, we truly won’t have anyone. It’s been three years. Haven’t you moved on?”
Carl lowered his eyes, his voice turning to ice. “It should have been him on that flight.”
Madonna’s eyes instantly flooded with tears. “Is he not your son too? I know you favored Jackson, and I never said a word about it! But Lance is your flesh and blood. If he died, would you seriously not feel a shred of pain?!”
Jackson had been exceptional, the golden child of the Adams family. He was the standard every other parent compared their children to.
Lance, on the other hand, had been a rebel. He never listened, constantly giving Carl and Madonna headaches.
But every time they tried to discipline Lance, Jackson would step in front of his younger brother, shielding him.

Chapter 674
Even though Jackson had only been a few years older, he always spoke with the maturity of an adult “I’ll handle the Adams family’s future. Let Lance do whatever he wants.”
And Lance would hide behind Jackson, making funny faces, driving everyone crazy.
Carl had blatantly favored his eldest son, placing the weight of all his hopes and dreams squarely on Jackson’s shoulders.
If that tragic accident hadn’t happened, Jackson wouldn’t have died, and the Adams family wouldn’t have fractured into the state it was in today.
