Chapter 759
Chapter 759
Nathalie shot to her feet, pointing wildly at the window. “Jack-!”
“What’s wrong?! What is it?!” Elara nearly jumped out of her skin, immediately standing up to look where she was pointing.
But Nathalle was already sprinting out the door. By the time she burst onto the sidewalk and looked around, the figure was completely gone.
She scanned the street frantically. Cars rushed by, the sidewalks were packed with pedestrians, but that familiar silhouette had vanished without a trace.
What was going on?
Was she hallucinating in the middle of the day?
“Nat, why did you just bolt out like that?” Elara rushed out after her, looking completely baffled.
Nathalie pressed her lips into a tight line, her eyes scanning the exact spot where the man had been standing one last time. Finally, she grabbed Elara’s hand and pulled her back inside the shop.
Once they were seated again, she pulled out her phone. A second later, the icy electronic voice echoed over the table. “I just saw someone who looked exactly like Jackson.”
Elara blinked, thoroughly confused. “Wait, isn’t Jackson Lance’s deceased brother?”
After spending enough time at Lumina Grand, she had completely mapped out the complicated web of the Adams family tree.
Nathalie nodded, a heavy sigh escaping her as she typed. “Yes, he passed away years ago. I must have just been seeing things.”
Right then, Sophia walked over with their drinks, setting them down on the table before pulling up a chair. “Why did you suddenly run outside? Did something happen?”
Nathalie shook her head and typed, “Nothing. I just thought I saw someone I knew, but my eyes played a trick on me.”
Sophia nodded in understanding. She offered a shy smile, her eyes incredibly bright as she looked at Nathalie. “Nathalie, the day after tomorrow is my birthday. I’m just planning to cook a few simple dishes at my place. Would you want to come over?”
The pure, hopeful anticipation in her eyes was impossible to miss.
Nathalie was pleasantly surprised. She nodded warmly, her fingers flying across the screen. “I’ll definitely be there. Text me your address.”

Sophia practically beamed. “Okay! I’ll send it right now. I’m so happy you’re coming, Nathae
Nathalie smiled, a soft, genuine warmth in her eyes.
Just then, a few new customers walked into the shop. Sophia quickly excused herself to go back to work. Elara took a long sip of her drink, her eyes widening. “Wow, this is really good. I love it.”
Nathalie picked up her drink and pointed toward the door, signaling that it was time to go.
Elara nodded, and the two of them headed out.
They wandered around until late afternoon. Suddenly, Elara’s phone started ringing. She pulled it out, took one look at the screen, and smirked. “Well, look at that. It’s Scumbag Lance.”
Nathalie glanced over just as Elara answered the call. “Hello? What do you want?”
Lance’s completely monotone voice drifted through the receiver. “Put me on speaker.”
Elara scoffed. “This is my phone. Why should I do whatever you tell me to do?”
Lance’s tone remained utterly unflappable. “Five hundred thousand dollars.”
Elara didn’t skip a beat. “…Done!”
That despicable capitalist!
He knew exactly how to use his filthy money to corrupt her morals!
