The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 113

Before she knew it, the sun had fully risen.

Just as Chloe finished washing up and changing her clothes, the doorbell rang.

Quentin Shaw stood in the hallway. Faint, dark circles bruised the skin under his eyes, making it obvious he hadn't slept well.

"Morning."

He set the breakfast he had brought on the dining table. "Eat something first, and then we'll head straight over."

Chloe didn't have much of an appetite.

Perhaps it was because her desperation for this cure ran so deep, but it had been a very long time since she felt this anxious.

Quentin suddenly spoke up. "You don't need to worry about Yuri. I'll take good care of the little guy while you're recovering."

"Okay, thank—" Chloe began, but was quickly cut off.

"Stop right there," Quentin said smoothly. "You promised to cover my meals for the next ten years. A simple 'thank you' won't cut it."

Chloe let out a soft laugh, feeling her anxiety instantly dial back.

With her emotions still churning, they quickly arrived at the hospital.

A team of elite medical professionals was already assembled and waiting, and all the state-of-the-art equipment had been meticulously prepped. They were just waiting for Dr. Macleod to arrive.

"Here, drink some water."

Noticing her nerves, Quentin handed her a cup of warm water.

"Thanks." Chloe took it and took a small sip.

The gossiping voices of several young doctors drifted over from nearby.

"With a setup this massive, what kind of VIP are we waiting for?"

"It's natural you don't know. A genius of his caliber isn't someone ordinary people get to meet."

"Seriously? Who managed to book him?"

"I heard it has something to do with Shaw Holdings..."

Chloe was incredibly curious herself. She couldn't help but look at Quentin and ask.

"How did you manage to get Dr. Macleod? Hasn't he been retired for years?"

Quentin's tone was casual. "Just dumb luck. The last time I was chatting with Chairman Shaw, he happened to mention Dr. Macleod. I asked a few more questions and found out they actually know each other."
