Preston lounged against the pillows, staring at her long, sweeping eyelashes and the faint blush the cold wind had painted on her cheeks. He suddenly found her incredibly endearing, so much so that he couldn't tear his eyes away.

"Chloe, a hired nurse is inconvenient."

"Besides, Grandma is coming to visit the house tonight. Do you really want her to figure out what's going on?"

To Chloe, those words were nothing short of a blatant threat.

Her fists clenched instantly. "Preston, don't push it!"

"Chloe, since we signed the agreement, you need to honor the terms. How is this pushing it?"

Preston smiled faintly. "But I won't make you work for free. A hundred thousand dollars a day. Is that enough?"

"Preston!" she blurted out anxiously. "She clearly doesn't want to! Even if she stays, she'll do a terrible job!"

Noticing the pure, unfiltered jealousy burning in Jenna's eyes, Chloe suddenly flashed a cool smirk and looked back at Preston.

"Two hundred thousand a day."

Preston chuckled, agreeing without a second of hesitation. "Deal."

Jenna's nails dug painfully into her palms. She glared at Chloe, looking as enraged as if Chloe had stolen her own money.

"Chloe, you really have some nerve demanding a price like that!"

Once Preston divorced her, all that money was supposed to be Jenna's! It made her heart bleed.

Chloe let out a cold laugh. "Money first."

Preston immediately grabbed his phone, tapped a few buttons, and seconds later, a transfer notification popped up.

"Chloe, can we go home now?"

Having received the funds, Chloe turned toward the door. "I'll be there right before Grandma arrives."

She accepted the money without a shred of guilt.
