The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 294

His gaze was complicated, brimming with sheer disbelief and shock.

This woman actually spent the night in Caroline's house!

And Mr. Shaw had even packed her a lunch!

In the past, these were privileges exclusively reserved for Caroline.

...

Outside the UN Sterling Interpretation Institute.

Chloe looked up at the deep blue sign displaying the institution's name in all six official languages, slightly lost in thought.

When she left three years ago, she thought she would never return.

Quentin stood beside her, looking impeccable in his tailored suit, his tall frame exuding a quiet, effortless elegance.

He tilted his head to look at her. "Nervous?"

Chloe smirked. "Excited."

The two walked into the Institute side by side.

Instantly, a barrage of probing stares locked onto them.

But Chloe only felt a sense of nostalgia and warmth.

They didn't know who she was, but every single face in the room was incredibly familiar to her.

A few figures approached. "Morning, Mr. Shaw."

"Long time no see, Mr. Shaw."

Quentin offered a curt nod, then accompanied Chloe to handle her onboarding procedures.

When the HR staff reviewed Chloe's medical report, they couldn't help but glance up at her repeatedly.

Though they didn't say a word, their expressions spoke volumes.

"Is there a problem?" Quentin asked.

"N-no..." The staff hurriedly finished the paperwork and handed over her ID badge.

"Good work," Quentin acknowledged.

Quentin led Chloe up to the top floor.

He had accumulated quite a backlog of work during his trip back, and quickly buried himself in tasks.

"What exactly is your relationship with Mr. Shaw? I heard you're disabled? He's never been the type to hand out favors, so why did he break all his rules for you?"

Chloe was stunned by the drastic transformation.

But people changed. She masked her surprise and simply repeated her request.

"These are the files. Are you able to verify them?"

Andrea snatched them impatiently, glancing over the pages. "Unqualified. Redo them. I have no idea why a disabled person would come to the Interpretation Institute, it's an absolute joke."

Just then, the door was pushed open.

"Interpreter Vance, watch your tone. You've already had three complaints this month."

Another woman from the office walked in.

Andrea rolled her eyes. "Oh, aren't you perfect!"

She shot Chloe a final glare and stomped out.

The woman took the files from Chloe's hands, signed and stamped them, and then said,

"Don't mind her, she's always like that. She thinks she's untouchable because of her past ties with Caroline Monet, so she treats everyone here like garbage."
