The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 347

Stepping out of the tea room, Chloe found Lucian waiting just down the hall.

Seeing her emerge, he pushed off the wall and walked over.

“All sorted?”

“Yes,” Chloe nodded. “Thank you, Mr. Sylvain.”

Although the encounter hadn't gone exactly as she had initially planned, she had essentially accomplished her goal.

It was merely a matter of waiting a few extra days.

Lucian gestured toward the exit. “Let's go, then. I'll walk you out.”

Chloe didn't want to impose on him any further. “Mr. Sylvain, you really don't have to—”

Before she could finish her sentence, Lucian's amber eyes locked onto hers.

“Weren't you just telling me how grateful you were? And now you're already trying to get rid of me?”

“No, no, that's not it...” Chloe quickly backpedaled.

Lucian let out a soft chuckle, highly amused by her flustered reaction.

For some inexplicable reason, he found teasing this woman incredibly entertaining.

He wasn't usually this playful.

“Then let's walk out together. Who knows when we'll cross paths again? Just treat me to dinner tonight as a thank-you.”

Chloe blinked in surprise before nodding. “Alright.”

The two walked through the club side by side.

Arriving together was one thing, but leaving together was another entirely. Their departure sent shockwaves through the onlookers who had been discreetly monitoring the situation.

Whispers frantically spread as the guests speculated wildly about the mysterious woman's identity.

“Could she be Mr. Sylvain's new girlfriend?”

“She carries herself flawlessly. She's got to be an heiress from a prominent family. Maybe it's an arranged marriage!”

“I don't know, look at their facial features... they look strikingly similar. They look more like siblings...”

The person abruptly cut themselves off, looking terrified.

Everyone in their circle knew the tragic history of the Sylvain family's beloved youngest daughter, who had been kidnapped overseas years ago.

That incident was a deeply buried, agonizing scar for the Sylvains and an absolute taboo within high society.

Anyone stupid enough to bring it up was just begging for a death wish.
