"No one is allowed to hurt my savior."
The bodyguards were speechless.
Savior? What savior?
They refused to believe their boss hadn't figured out that Chloe was the one who dug the damn hole!
Julian mused quietly, "At least, not right now. Because she's turning out to be far more interesting than I expected."
He couldn't stop thinking about the lingering scent of her perfume on his fingertips.
It was almost nostalgic.
Like an addiction.
...
At St. Ives Medical Center, the door to a VIP suite was kicked open.
The nurse inside jumped in shock, rushing forward to block the intruder. "Sir, this is a patient's room, you can't just..."
But the pale man in the hospital bed simply smiled.
"It's alright. Thank you for your help. You can step out."
The nurse hesitated but eventually left.
Preston Hayes marched straight to the bed and grabbed Julian by the collar.
"Are you looking for a death wish?"
Julian chuckled softly. "Preston. To think you'd actually come looking for me."
"Let me guess why."
He stared back at Preston, his eyes brimming with pure provocation.
"Is it because I checked into your mother's hospital, or..."
*Smack!*
Preston's fist connected hard with Julian's jaw.
"I told you, if you ever go near her again, I will end you!"
Julian swallowed the pain, a mocking grin spreading across his face.
"Ah, so you're upset because Chloe and I had a little reunion. Didn't you block me ages ago? How did you even see my WhatsApp update?"
Preston threw another punch. "Stay the hell away from her, do you hear me?"
Julian countered, "What are you so panicked about? Afraid I'm going to steal her? Tsk. Preston, do you have zero trust in her, or just zero confidence in yourself?"
