"Huh? The old guy just died?"
Justin Cameron looked around the area, frowning. "Damn, how did he die so fast!"
The person next to him said, "Justin, since the guy's dead, let's just get out of here..."
Lately, although they'd made a good amount of money, they felt what they were doing was morally questionable, putting a lot of pressure on the teenagers.
But Justin acted like he feared nothing. Instead, he cursed, "Shit! No way, even if the old man is dead, I can't just go back today!"
He was originally paid by the day, and now that the guy was dead, his income was cut off.
This made Justin deeply frustrated and even angrier. "Then we need to find that woman from yesterday. She hit me, so of course she has to pay up!"
Hearing this, the others thought it made sense and stopped their motorcycles.
The group began looking around for Chloe Reed.
The other people attending the funeral withdrew their gazes, not paying much attention to these teenagers.
But Jenna Cameron was visibly panicking.
She grabbed Preston Hayes's sleeve, her eyes red. "Preston, we've already paid our respects to Mr. Goodwin. Since they don't welcome us, let's just go..."
Preston said, "I can't leave yet."
Left with no choice, Jenna said, "I need to use the restroom..."
She found an excuse and hurriedly went to a secluded spot, quickly pulling out her phone to dial a number.
The person on the other end answered, sounding pleasantly surprised. "Jenna, do you have a new job for me?"
"Job my ass! Get the hell out of there right now!"
Jenna was furious, lowering her voice. "Can't you see they're holding a funeral? What are you doing here? Are you just begging to get caught?"
Justin didn't care. "It's fine. These people are cowards, they can't do anything to me."
Jenna said anxiously, "Didn't I tell you just to mess with the old man and not get caught? You didn't do anything else, did you?"
