Jenna burst into tears. "Fine, think whatever you want of me. You don't like me anyway, so no matter what I do, you'll be biased against me..."
She looked at Preston with tear-filled eyes.
"Preston, let's go. I don't want to stay here anymore..."
Preston looked at her, his gaze complex, and didn't speak immediately.
"You're not leaving!" Rhonda rushed forward to block her.
"If you really did this, I will absolutely not let you get away with it!"
Jenna reached out to push her. "Let go, don't touch me!"
She hid behind Preston, her voice choked with sobs. "Preston..."
Red-eyed, Rhonda looked at Preston.
"Mr. Hayes, my father was your teacher after all. After what he went through, you can't keep favoring her..."
Jenna spoke urgently from behind him, "Preston, this really has nothing to do with me..."
Rhonda's voice trembled. "Mr. Hayes, please step aside!"
Preston fell silent for a long time before finally speaking.
"Leave this to me. I will make sure they pay the appropriate price."
Rhonda stared dead at him. "And what about Jenna?"
Preston paused. "This matter doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Jenna."
Rhonda's chest heaved violently, tears spilling from her eyes. "Who else could it be but her?"
Preston didn't say anything else. He just blocked Rhonda while calling Ken, telling him to come and take Jenna away.
Rhonda lunged forward like a madwoman, refusing to let Jenna leave.
In the scuffle, she leaned back and was about to fall.
As Preston reached out to catch her, another hand had already steadied her firmly.
Chloe had walked up beside them at some point.
The moment their eyes met, Preston's heart inexplicably sank.
The way she looked at him was like she was looking at something laughable and repulsive.
"Chloe..."
Chloe ignored him. She supported Rhonda and turned to walk away, leaving behind only one cold sentence.
"This won't end here."
