The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 149

A handsome face stared back from the mirror—it was Stefan. He couldn't help but chuckle as he recalled Winona calling him 'Mr. Fan.'

She really hadn't recognized him. Fan was a childhood nickname his grandfather had given him, so it was no wonder she couldn’t connect it to him.

The next evening, Winona finished her overtime work and rushed to the fencing club. She hadn't gotten Mr. Fan's contact information and worried that if she were late, he might think she’d changed her mind and bailed on their practice session.

As she reached the elevators, Winona saw Stefan and Ophelia. She instantly regretted her timing. If she had known they would be on this elevator, she would have waited.

Ophelia smiled brightly. "Winona, where are you off to? You seem to be in quite a hurry."

Steeling herself, Winona stepped into the elevator. "I'm meeting someone to work out," she replied, her voice flat. "I'm running a little late."

"Don't tell me it's Yulen?" Ophelia probed. "You two are so sweet together, working hard to prepare for a baby, even starting a new fitness routine."

Winona couldn't be bothered to explain and just silently watched the floor numbers change.

Stefan had been pleased to hear she was going to work out. But hearing that it was to prepare for a baby, his heart sank.

Had she forgotten how Yulen had hurt her? And now she actually wanted to have a child with him.

When they reached the ground floor, Winona hastily excused herself. "I have to go, so I'll leave you two. Take care."

Then, she quickly walked away.

Ophelia turned to Stefan with a smile. "Stefan, shall we get dinner together?"

"I have something to do tonight," Stefan said coolly. "You go ahead."

With that, he strode out of the elevator.
