The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 155

Tallulah laughed. "Impossible. Winona doesn't know how to fence. Why would she come here?"

She linked her arm through Yulen's, her voice coaxing. "Come on, let's go meet Victor. I've revised the proposal twice now. I'm sure he'll be satisfied this time."

When she found out that the Locke family had given the project to Winona, she had been furious. She was the R&D director at Locke Group; why should an outsider like Winona be in charge of one of their projects? Besides, she was perfectly capable of landing this deal herself. She refused to believe she could lose to Winona.

Yulen nodded. "Alright. By the way, when is your brother getting here?"

Tallulah smiled. "He said he'll be here soon. Let's go find Victor first."

Though her brother, Zayden Shipley, was a good-for-nothing, he excelled at various sports, including fencing. Having him come and play a few rounds with Victor would be a good way to build rapport.

As Winona was about to head to the changing room, she spotted Mr. Sutton and Mr. Falconer, the CEOs of two pharmaceutical companies. She immediately guessed they were also here to see Powell Group's Victor.

Mr. Sutton and Mr. Falconer saw her and approached with friendly smiles. They had been deeply impressed by her during Mr. Harper's lecture after witnessing her exchange with the esteemed professor. When they later heard that Mr. Harper had taken her on as a student, their admiration for her only grew. If they had the chance, they would have loved to poach Winona for their own R&D teams.

"Are you here to see Victor?" Mr. Sutton asked. "Is Mr. Harper's lab also interested in the Powell Group project?"

Winona nodded but didn't mention she was there on behalf of Locke Group.
