The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 179

Julian had once pursued Ophelia, but he gave up after she got engaged to Evander Goddard. After Evander's death, he had even asked her if she would consider him. When Ophelia confessed she liked Stefan, he never brought it up again.

Now, seeing Julian truly move on and try to charm another woman, Ophelia felt a prickle of annoyance. She didn't think of it as jealousy—after all, Winona wasn't even worthy of being her rival. She just couldn't understand how Julian's standards had fallen so low. Winona wasn't from a prominent family, had no remarkable talents, and was already with Yulen. He could chase anyone, yet he chose a woman so beneath him.

She glanced at Stefan. His expression was placid, as if Julian's friendly chat with Winona didn't affect him in the slightest. She breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed Stefan wasn't that invested in Winona either. That was reassuring.

Stefan, of course, was oblivious to her thoughts. The reason he wasn't bothered by Julian's advances toward Winona was simple: he knew Winona didn't like Julian. She was still entangled with Yulen; how could she possibly have feelings for another man?

After everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to Hayes, they started playing cards and games. Winona had planned to sit quietly for a while and then leave, but Hayes pulled her into a game of Truth or Dare.

Hayes looked at Stefan with a triumphant grin. "It's my birthday. You can't refuse to play a game with me."

Stefan nodded. "Fine."

Hayes chuckled deviously. He was determined to dig up one of Stefan's secrets tonight.

After a few rounds, the bottle finally spun to a stop, pointing at Stefan. Stefan looked at Hayes, his expression lazy. "Go ahead, ask."

Hayes stared at him, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Alright, I won't be polite. Is your first love in this room?"
