Ophelia glanced at Stefan, certain he wouldn't answer this question. After all, they had never shared any intimate moments.
Winona, however, thought of the kiss she and Stefan had shared, and her ears grew hot.
Stefan picked up his glass. "I'll drink," he said coolly.
"Alright, I'll let you off the hook this time," Hayes said, not pushing him further.
The bottle spun a few more times. Winona was stunned when it finally landed on her. Hayes grinned. "Ms. Jowett, we're friends, so I won't make it hard for you. A simple one: do you have a crush on anyone right now?"
Before she could even think, Winona subconsciously nodded. Then, she froze. To her shock, the first man who had popped into her head was Stefan. She was about to shake her head and say no, but the others were already laughing and starting the next round, so she let it go.
Stefan, sitting on the sofa, watched her with an unreadable expression. Did she nod so readily because she was thinking of Yulen?
The drink Winona had been sipping was alcoholic, and by the time the party ended, she was already feeling tipsy. Stefan noticed and started walking toward her. But Julian beat him to it.
"Do you want me to give you a ride home?" he asked Winona.
In her drunken haze, Winona's mind was slow. She nodded. "Yeah."
Seeing her state, Stefan shook his head with a helpless sigh and said to Julian, "Winona and I live close to each other. I'll take her home."
"Stefan," Ophelia called out, walking up behind them. "Can I catch a ride with you, too?"
Stefan looked at Julian. "Why don't you take Ophelia? I have a video conference later tonight, so I'm a bit rushed."
The doors closed again before Stefan finally came to his senses. Winona released him, her eyes fluttering shut as if she had fallen asleep again.
Seeing the elevator slowly descending back to the ground floor, Stefan felt a headache coming on. This drunkard… she seemed so well-behaved when she was intoxicated, but she certainly had a way of getting handsy.
The next day, Winona woke up in her own bed. She vaguely remembered Stefan bringing her home, but the rest of the night was a complete blank. It was probably for the best. At least this way, she wouldn't have to remember any more embarrassing moments that would make seeing Stefan awkward.
Julian was very interested in the collaborative project between Goddard Group, Jericho Harper’s lab, and Locke Group. He arrived at Goddard Group with a serious proposal to negotiate terms with Stefan and Nolan.
Three days later, Winona saw him in the office.
Julian winked at her. "We meet again, Winona."
