The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 194

She just needed an excuse to come back, and he was happy to provide one. “Alright, stop giving me the cold shoulder,” Yulen said, trying to pull her into an embrace. “The old Winona was never like this. I miss her.”

He hadn't been intimate with her in a while and found himself missing it. Tallulah might be more exciting, but even that could get old. Besides, with her in the early stages of pregnancy, he couldn't do much anyway. After weeks of abstinence, he found himself craving Winona’s body. The scars on her leg were a turn-off, but with the lights off, he could overcome his psychological barrier. “Come home tonight,” he murmured. “We can have a baby. Nikita would be thrilled if she knew you were pregnant.”

Winona recoiled from his touch, disgusted. What did he think she was? A tool for his sexual release? A thoughtless, emotionless puppet he could control with a few empty words?

“Yulen, I told you, I’m not going back,” she said, her voice shaking with anger. “And don’t think I don’t know that your relationship with Tallulah is more than just professional—”

Before she could finish, his phone rang. It was Camille. After a brief, serious conversation, he hung up. “I have to get back to the office,” he told Winona. “Think about it, Winona. If I didn’t love you, why would I be so patient with you and Nikita?”

When she remained silent, he sighed in frustration and hurried away.

Back in the room, Nikita said, “Yulen left a file on the sofa. Could you take it to him?”

Feeling a small debt of gratitude for the care he’d shown her grandmother, Winona picked up the file and left. In the hospital’s underground garage, she spotted Yulen. She was about to call out to him when she overheard him speaking with his assistant.
