Realizing Roxana couldn't be manipulated, Tallulah felt a sharp cramp of stress in her stomach.
Roxana turned her attention back to Winona. "Winona, pick out whatever you want. I'm buying!"
With a flourish, she pulled out a sleek black credit card. "Swipe this for whatever you like."
Winona smiled warmly. "Thank you, but I can pay for my own clothes."
Roxana insisted, "Oh, don't be so polite! My brother gives me millions in allowance every month, and I literally can't spend it fast enough. If he knew I was buying you clothes, he'd be absolutely thrilled."
Clenching her fists, Tallulah sneered. "Winona, I guess all your big talk about making your own money was just a bluff. Look at you, happily living off Stefan's wealth like a total parasite."
Winona let out an icy laugh and pulled out her phone, opening her Tax Filing App.
"Why don't you take a good look at this? This is just the tax return on my project bonuses every month. Read the numbers."
Tallulah's eyes widened in shock at the string of digits. "There is no way you pull in that kind of bonus..."
Winona pocketed her phone, her voice dropping to a freezing register. "The projects you work on are completely devoid of technical value, so obviously you've never seen a real bonus. But then again, your entire worldview revolves around chasing men and acting as an incubator. What would you know about actual R&D?"
Roxana stood to the side, looking at Winona like she had hung the moon.
"Winona, you are such a badass! I have never met anyone as gorgeous, cool, and brilliant as you. Honestly, with my brother's grumpy personality, I'm starting to think he doesn't even deserve you. Anyway, let's stop wasting oxygen on trash like her. Let's go try on some clothes."
With that, she dragged Winona away deeper into the boutique.
Tallulah stood rooted to the spot, seething with a toxic mix of humiliation and pure rage, but there was absolutely nothing she could do to Winona.
If she wasn't currently exhausted from protecting her pregnancy, she swore she could outshine Winona. She was meant to be better than her!
What gave Winona the right to act so arrogant?
Once she had this baby and made her grand return to the corporate world, she would prove her superiority to everyone!
