Winona guessed it was Tallulah again. She let out a short, bitter laugh. Just as she turned to leave, Yulen grabbed her wrist. “Wait, let me just take this call.”
Tallulah was crying on the other end. “Yulen, I cut my foot on some glass! It hurts so much…”
Yulen’s expression immediately turned to one of concern. “I’m on my way.”
He let go of Winona’s hand and left without another word.
Later, back in her own apartment, Winona received a photo from Tallulah. In it, Yulen was kneeling on the floor, carefully applying medicine to Tallulah’s foot where it rested across his knee.
Winona found it laughable and texted back: “It's pathetic that you have to resort to self-harm and a baby to get a man's attention.”
Tallulah saw the message and gritted her teeth in fury. If Yulen hadn’t been right there, she would have called Winona and screamed at her.

On Saturday, Winona packed a small bag and went to Helena’s house. Yulen arrived in a white casual outfit, looking younger and more relaxed than he did in his usual tailored suits. Coincidentally, Winona was also wearing a white tracksuit.
Nikita beamed, saying they looked perfect together and asking Greta to take a picture. Yulen played along, moving to stand beside Winona and reaching for her hand. She pulled away. His smile faltered for a second before he composed himself and faced the camera.
Greta showed the photo to Nikita, then to Yulen and Winona. Looking at the picture, Winona thought their smiles looked painfully fake—like a couple who had already fallen apart but still had to perform for the family.
“Let’s get going,” Yulen said, checking the time. He personally loaded everyone’s luggage into the car.
Once inside, Winona closed her eyes and pretended to sleep, not in the mood for conversation. Yulen noticed but didn’t disturb her.
The thought of the baby took some of the edge out of Yulen’s voice. “But if you follow me here, what if Winona gets the wrong idea?”
“I won’t say anything to upset her,” Tallulah blinked innocently. “What are you worried about?”
“Just be careful,” Yulen couldn’t help but add. “You’re pregnant, so don’t wander off.”
“I know,” Tallulah said, sticking her tongue out playfully.
Yulen ruffled her hair, then returned to Winona and the others, helping them with their luggage. He had booked three rooms: one for Nikita, one for Helena and Greta, and one for himself and Winona. But Winona walked straight into Nikita’s room.
Seeing that she refused to stay with him, Yulen was both annoyed and amused. He never imagined she would hold a grudge for this long. But he had patience. He was convinced he could win her over again, one step at a time.
