"I haven't told her yet," Giselle mumbled.
"Well, tell her immediately," Sylvan ordered.
Left with no alternative, Giselle texted Wynne. Within the hour, Wynne arrived at the hospital.
The moment she walked in, Sylvan practically tripped over himself to play the hero. "Wynne, please don't worry. I've already flown in the top orthopedic specialists. She's getting the absolute best care money can buy."
Wynne feigned a look of deep concern. "What on earth happened? Did the police find who did this?"
"My security team is looking into it quietly," Sylvan lied smoothly. "I won't let anyone get away with hurting her."
Wynne simply nodded, ignoring him completely to focus her attention on Giselle. Watching Sylvan use her trauma as a cheap pickup line made Giselle nauseous, but she kept her mouth shut.

That evening, Stefan walked into the home office to find Winona calmly reviewing a stack of project files. He leaned against the doorframe, a smirk playing on his lips. "That little trick you pulled for Forrest? Masterfully done."
Using the angry wives as a weapon was brilliant. However, Stefan hadn't taken any chances; he'd already had his people scrub any digital trace linking Winona to the leaked photos, just in case Sylvan ever got suspicious.
Winona looked up, a hint of vulnerability in her eyes. "Do you think I was too ruthless?"
Stefan walked over, pulling her into his arms. "She ordered a hit to destroy a man's livelihood. Getting roughed up by some angry housewives was letting her off easy."
Relief washed over her, and she couldn't help but laugh. "You're entirely too good to me. You always take my side. If I committed murder, you'd probably still back me up."
Stefan kissed the top of her head. "Obviously. If you kill someone, I'm grabbing a shovel to help bury the body. I'd never let anything happen to you."
Suddenly, a heavy ceramic water glass was knocked off the table, smashing directly onto her broken ribs.
She shrieked, her face twisting in pure agony. The two trust-fund idiots were so busy yelling at each other they didn't even notice. Giselle didn't have the strength to reach the call button. She tried to scream for a doctor, but her voice was drowned out by their bickering.
*You useless pieces of garbage!* she screamed internally. But she'd spent months manipulating these men to keep them around, and now, getting rid of them was impossible. Thanks to the constant stress and chaos, her injuries only worsened.

Across the city, Wynne arrived at Forrest's hospital room holding a thermos.
Seeing him with his arm in a cast, yet still smiling politely and greeting her, made her chest tight with unshed tears. "I brought you some Creamy Fish and Vegetable Risotto. You need to stick to light, nutritious food for now, but I'll make you proper bone broths when you're a little stronger."
