At that exact moment, Roxana and Violet were thousands of feet in the air, flying on a private jet toward Yelden Country for the wedding.
"Grandma," Roxana said, "if Mom finds out that Stefan and Winona already signed the papers and are having the ceremony right now, she's going to pass out from the shock."
Violet scoffed. "She brings it on herself. She opposes every single thing Stefan wants to do. All she does is drag him down with her endless negativity, like someone drowning and trying to pull him under with her. Honestly, having a mother like her is worse than having no mother at all."
Roxana sighed softly. If only her mom would just seek some therapy and change her ways.
Violet pulled out a lengthy gift registry and began reviewing it.
"Roxana, help me double-check this. When we land, Winona's family will be there. We didn't go through the formal process of proposing to her family, so skipping straight to the wedding is a bit presumptuous on our part. We need to offer them a very sincere apology. Look over this list and make sure we aren't missing anything. If we are, I'll have my assistant purchase it immediately."
Roxana smiled. "Grandma, Winona is so sweet and understanding. Her family is bound to be just as wonderful. You don't need to stress so much. I'm sure they completely understand why Stefan rushed to marry her."
"I hope so. But we still need to show the utmost respect. They raised such an incredible young woman; they clearly poured their hearts into her. Stefan is incredibly lucky to marry a girl like Winona, and our family is lucky to have her."
Meanwhile, Winona and Stefan had checked into their reserved luxury hotel.
Wynne and Ryder Powell had flown in early to help coordinate the final wedding details.
Even though it was an intimate, private ceremony, Wynne was determined to ensure everything was absolutely flawless.
After resting for a few hours, Winona headed to the bridal suite for her hair and makeup trial.
Wynne had brought over four or five stunning jewelry sets for Winona to choose from.
Seeing how much effort Wynne was putting in, Winona felt a surge of gratitude. "Thank you so much, Wynne."
Wynne smiled warmly. "Oh, it's just a few minor details. Please don't worry about it. Besides, Ryder and I haven't taken a real vacation in ages, so we're thrilled to have an excuse to get away."
Roxana quickly spun a lie. "Oh, it's just a friend of mine who lives in Yelden. She's getting married tomorrow and I came to celebrate. Anyway, I'm super busy right now, gotta go!"
She hung up instantly.
Ophelia frowned and went back to inspect the photo, but the post had already been deleted.
Fortunately, Ophelia had taken a screenshot the second she saw it.
She drove straight to the Goddard estate and showed the screenshot to Margaret.
"Aunt Margaret, Grandma and Roxana suddenly flew off to Yelden. Stefan happens to be in Yelden on a 'business trip.' And this woman in the wedding dress—her silhouette is a dead ringer for Winona. Is it really just a massive coincidence? Do you think they went behind our backs to do something drastic?"
Margaret scrutinized the photo. She noticed the gown wasn't an haute couture piece from a top luxury house; it looked like the work of an independent, niche designer.
