Yulen checked the time. It was almost 2 AM. He felt inexplicably uneasy, like he was about to lose something crucial.
He pulled up Winona's number. He wanted to call her. But then he remembered the last time he called and heard the intimate sounds between her and Stefan. He didn't want to experience that agony a second time. So he restrained the urge.
Next morning, he woke up early and waited by the elevator for a long time, but Winona didn't come down. He assumed she had gone to stay at Helena's place, so he headed to Winona's workplace.
The receptionist informed him that Winona had taken three days off. His anxiety worsened.
He went to Helena's beauty salon and Greta's school, only to find out that they had taken time off too.
He rang Nikita's doorbell, but there was no response.
Could they have gone on a vacation? But Winona had just taken Stefan and her family on a trip not long ago; it made no sense to travel again so soon.
He scrolled through Helena's social media accounts, hoping to find a trace of where they went. Nothing.
Yulen grew increasingly frustrated.
That night, Yulen and Giselle went out for drinks.
Sylvan had been discharged from the hospital, so Giselle didn't need to take care of him anymore. Perhaps because of her recent dedication, Sylvan's attitude toward her had improved significantly, and he had even put in a good word for her with Dean Ziegler regarding her job. Because of this, the Dean allowed her to attend a meeting at work today.
Compared to Yulen's gloom, Giselle was in a rather good mood.
Hearing Yulen talk about his nightmares, she found it amusing. "You really think your dream is real just because you dreamt Winona was marrying someone else, and she happens to be on leave?"
Yulen drank his liquor in silence.
After the meeting, Jericho said to her, "I'm having lunch with Dean Ziegler later. Come with us."
"Sure," Winona replied.
At noon, she went to the restaurant with Jericho. Zack and Giselle were also in the private dining room.
Winona was wearing a loose-fitting dress and flat shoes today.
Giselle glanced at her with pure disdain. Her fashion sense is terrible. She's dressing like a pregnant woman. I have no idea what Stefan sees in her.
The restaurant owner was on good terms with Dean Ziegler and Jericho, so he sent over a bottle of fruit liqueur.
"This has a very low alcohol content," the owner introduced with a smile. "Chilled, it's perfect as a refreshing summer drink. It's usually a bestseller and sells out fast, but knowing you guys drop by, I made sure to save a bottle."
