The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 644

Dean Ziegler thanked him and asked Zack to pour everyone a glass.

Being pregnant, Winona couldn't drink the fruit liqueur, so she politely declined with a smile. "My stomach hasn't been feeling great lately. Warm water is fine for me."

Zack poured her a glass of water instead.

Giselle couldn't help but shoot her another glance.

During the meal, Winona took a bite of steamed sea fish, and instinctively covered her mouth, dry heaving.

Zack asked with concern, "Is your stomach acting up? Let me get you some winter melon soup."

Winona took a moment to suppress the nausea before replying, "Thank you."

Seeing this, Giselle's expression suddenly turned grim.

Is Winona pregnant?

The thought of her using a baby to secure her status filled Giselle's eyes with a flash of jealousy and fury.

On Saturday, Giselle noticed the family housekeeper making soup.

"That smells amazing," she said. "Are you taking a portion to Winona later?"

Wynne was very fond of Winona and frequently had soup and food sent over.

The housekeeper nodded. "Yes, miss. I'll serve you a bowl first."

"No rush," Giselle smiled.

She deliberately scratched her neck.

Noticing the red rash, the housekeeper asked with concern, "Did you get bit by a mosquito? Let me go grab some ointment for you."

"Thank you so much," Giselle replied gratefully.

The housekeeper nodded. "Ma'am, do you want the driver to take you?"

"No need."

Once the housekeeper left, Wynne stared at the thermos, her eyes icing over.

There were surveillance cameras all over the house. Giselle's every move while spiking the soup had been recorded.

Wynne drove off, but her first stop was a testing facility to analyze the chemical makeup of the drug in the soup. Only then did she head to Stefan and Winona's place.

She informed the couple about Giselle slipping painkillers into the broth.

Recalling the lunch from the other day, Winona said, "She probably got suspicious when I was dry heaving."

She hadn't expected Giselle to be so observant.

Stefan pondered for a moment. "Let's not alert her just yet. The person backing her is still in the shadows. We need to be careful."
