The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 662

She fully expected Winona to shower her with praise.

Winona scanned the pages quickly, then frowned. "You wrote this?"

"Yeah!"

Winona’s voice was ice. "Did you completely slack off during your undergrad? You've misspelled the most basic terminology. Starting tonight, you will spend two hours reviewing your undergraduate textbooks. I’ll be doing random spot checks."

Karina froze.

Was she really telling her to relearn her entire college curriculum? Her head throbbed at the thought.

"Winona, I didn't do that badly in school," she protested. "I just got a little careless with a few terms."

"Do you have any idea how catastrophic a 'careless' mistake can be in pharmaceutical R&D? I'll say it again: if you don't want to follow my rules, you can resign right now."

Karina clamped her jaw shut. "Fine. I'll study."

When Karina stomped off to the breakroom, Killian picked up the summary. After reading it, he chuckled. "It's really not that bad. I knew she couldn't have passed the written exam without some foundational knowledge. You're being a little harsh on her."

Winona had already figured Karina out.

Karina had been spoiled her entire life, enabled by everyone around her, which resulted in her undisciplined attitude. If she were kept on a tight leash, she could actually achieve something great. If left to her own devices, she'd just cause a series of stupid disasters.

Stefan had once mentioned that if Winona could properly guide Karina, she would become her most fiercely loyal ally.

Winona's ten-minute presentation left the room of professionals wanting more. As she prepared to step down, thunderous applause erupted.

To everyone present, Winona was no longer just a beautiful symbol—she was a brilliant R&D prodigy.

Having worked with her for a week, Karina had already sensed Winona’s formidable expertise, but she hadn’t realized she was this good. Winona had been bogged down with project overtime all week and barely had time to rehearse, yet she delivered a world-class presentation.

No wonder Mr. Bell adored Winona and couldn't stand Karina. She was completely, utterly humbled.

Sitting nearby, Giselle Reed listened to the crowd praising Winona's work, her eyes burning with sheer envy. Sylvan Scully had tried pulling strings with the organizers to get her a speaking slot, but they had flat-out refused.

The thought that she was denied the chance to showcase her talent while Winona basked in the spotlight drove her insane. If she had been given the opportunity, she firmly believed she could have done just as well.
