After her morning meeting, Winona received a call from Stein.
"Mr. Harrison?"
Stein sounded deeply apologetic. "Winona, I never expected my wife to post something like that and cause you so much trouble. I am so sorry. But she really isn't a bad person at heart; she just let her emotions get the better of her. I sincerely hope you can forgive her and drop the lawsuit. Rest assured, I will convince her to apologize to you."
Winona asked, "You two are about to divorce, and she made a post that nearly ruined your reputation. Don't you hate her?"
Stein gave a bitter laugh. "The romance between us is gone, but the family bond is still there. She's the mother of my child and someone who has been by my side for decades. Even after the divorce, if she ever runs into trouble, I'll still help her."
Winona sighed softly. "Alright, I understand. If she apologizes to me, I'll drop the case."
When they were young, most people believed their love would last forever. But hearts change, and many couples drift apart and lose each other along the way.
Having been through the emotional wringer with Yulen, Winona had once lost faith in love herself. But Stefan made her believe they could go the distance.
Thank God Stefan wasn't like other men. Thank God she found him.
Winona assumed it would take Mrs. Harrison a few days to swallow her pride and apologize. To her surprise, right before the end of the workday, Mrs. Harrison texted her to ask her out for dinner.
Winona agreed. She messaged Lexie that she wouldn't be home for dinner and let Stefan know she'd be back late.
She arrived at the restaurant they had agreed upon. Mrs. Harrison was dressed in an elegant dress, sitting with perfect posture. Her mood seemed much calmer than before. She had cut her hair into a chic bob with subtle waves.
Winona sat across from her. Seeing Mrs. Harrison zoned out, Winona reached out and poured her some coffee.
