The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 674

She had once been a woman with professional ambitions, but she gave up her dreams and career for her family, spending her days revolving around the kitchen.

Now, the thought of re-entering the workforce terrified her. She was afraid she wouldn't be able to handle it.

"How will you know if you don't try?" Winona asked gently.

Yvonne nodded. "Thank you. I'm going to try to start over."

Winona smiled. "May I ask what your first name is?"

The older woman looked profoundly moved. It had been a very long time since anyone had asked for her name. Everyone just called her Mrs. Harrison or someone's mom. No one ever asked who she really was.

Smiling through her tears, she said, "My name is Yvonne. My parents wanted me to be highly educated and cultured, but look at me—just a housewife. I've let them down. If I could do it all over again, I would never sacrifice everything for a man. I would never give up my career for a family. I'm going to find myself again."

After dinner, Winona walked out of the restaurant and got into her car to head home.

She had just learned a crucial piece of information from Yvonne: Holly, the researcher who had instigated the drama, had been fired.

Before leaving, Holly admitted she was the one who bought the flowers and deliberately misled Yvonne into thinking Stein and Winona were having an affair. She also confessed to being paid to do it. But when pressed on who paid her, she kept her mouth shut.

The person behind it must have paid a massive sum of hush money for Holly to stay quiet.

Winona had Ezra look into Holly's recent large deposits, and she quickly found out exactly who was pulling the strings.

It was Giselle Reed.
