The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 680

Wynne was reading a book. When she saw Winona walk in, her face lit up. "Why did you come all the way over here? Have you eaten yet? I'll have the maid make you some pasta."

With that, she took Winona's hand and led her out of the study.

Winona looked closely at her arm. "Did you put the ointment on?"

"Yes, I did. It'll heal quickly. It doesn't even hurt anymore."

Wynne guided her to a chair at the dining table and instructed the maid to prepare the food.

A short while later, a steaming bowl of chicken pasta was brought out.

"Eat up," Wynne urged affectionately.

Winona was genuinely hungry. She picked up her silverware and started eating. Wynne watched her with a look of pure contentment.

After finishing her meal, Winona sat on the sofa and chatted with Wynne for a while before finally getting up to leave.

"Ezra drove you here, right?" Wynne asked.

Winona nodded.

"Good, then get home safe. My burn is really nothing to worry about. I know how demanding your job is; your free time is precious. Make sure you get some rest."

Winona looked at Wynne, her heart swelling with emotion.

She had never experienced a mother's love before. But from Wynne, she felt exactly what it was like to be cared for by a mother.

It was just such a shame—Wynne wasn't her mother, and she wasn't Wynne's daughter.

When Winona got back to her apartment, she was still lost in thought.

Stefan was already home. Seeing her staring off into space, he asked, "What's wrong? Didn't you just go see Wynne? Is the burn bad?"

"She has a few blisters. It should heal in a few days, but I'm worried the pain will keep her up tonight."
