The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 687

The mental strain of the last two days had taken its toll on Yulen. He hadn't even had time to shave the stubble on his chin.

In stark contrast to his haggard, anxious state, Winona looked entirely composed and radiant.

Yulen stared at her, hesitating for a long time before finally speaking. "Winona, I agree to your terms. Please help Locke Group get through this crisis."

Winona smiled slightly. "I can certainly help Locke Group, but my terms have changed. I want ten percent of Locke Group's equity. If you agree, I can provide the solution immediately."

Yulen stared at her in disbelief.

"Ten percent?"

In that moment, Winona felt like a complete stranger.

The gentle Winona who used to love him unconditionally would never have said such a thing.

Winona kept smiling. "You can think it over. But if you come to me again, I might not agree at all. This is a one-time offer."

With that, she turned to walk away.

Gritting his teeth, Yulen finally forced the words out. "I agree. I'll have the lawyers contact you tomorrow."

The corner of Winona's mouth tipped up as she walked away.

That evening, Winona mentioned the exchange to Stefan.

"Stefan, do you think my demand was too ruthless?"

Stefan shook his head. "Not at all. The drugs you developed for Locke Group in the past generated massive profits for them. This is exactly what you deserve. However, Yulen agreed a little too easily. I suspect their company is sitting on a ticking time bomb they haven't disclosed."

Winona looked confused. "What do you mean?"

Stefan analyzed the situation. "Failing this project would definitely rupture their cash flow, but given Locke Group's foundation, they could easily secure loans or pull funds from other areas. The worst-case scenario is lower profit margins. If they are completely unwilling to do that, it likely means their financial books can't withstand an audit."

Winona was genuinely surprised.
