Daisy smirked. "If you knew you couldn't handle the heat, why didn't you just play nice?"
Giselle kept her head down, pouring her a cup of coffee with a submissive slump to her shoulders. "Daisy, I really messed up. I know that now."
Daisy took a sip, her eyes filled with disdain. "I'll handle your offshore accounts. As for Vince, I'll pay him off so he doesn't drag you down with him. But in exchange, you're going to do something for me."
"Anything." Giselle breathed a sigh of relief.
"Wynne Walden is planning to transfer her shares to you, isn't she?" Daisy's gaze sharpened. "Did you really think you could swallow all that wealth on your own? You'd choke on it."
Giselle's heart sank. As much as it pained her, she offered, "What if I split it with you? Fifty-fifty?"
She figured that would be enough to satisfy her.
"Half?" Daisy's tone was icy. "Are you joking, Giselle? I want eighty percent. You can keep twenty."
Giselle hadn't expected her to be so greedy. With only twenty percent, there wouldn't be much left to fund the lavish lifestyle she'd been dreaming of.
"Not interested?" Daisy offered a chilling smile. "Fine. I won't lift a finger. After all, I'm not the one who hired Vince to get rid of someone."
Terrified of ending up in prison, Giselle reluctantly caved. "Fine. Eighty percent."
"Good girl." Daisy reached out and patted her cheek.
Giselle seethed with resentment, but she had no choice. Her manipulative tricks were nothing compared to Daisy's ruthlessness. Bowing her head was her only option.
Meanwhile, Waldo had hidden a recording device under a serving platter before the women arrived. As they ate, every word was captured. After they left the private dining room, he retrieved the bug and headed back to his car.
