The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 700

Giselle hadn't expected Winona to show up. A flash of profound guilt darted across her eyes.

But the guilt was immediately swallowed by a toxic surge of jealousy. It made her physically sick seeing how much Wynne doted on Winona.

Winona caught the panicked shift in Giselle's gaze. Her eyes narrowed in cold suspicion.

"Heading out so late? Are you going back to the office?" Wynne asked Giselle casually.

Giselle lied without missing a beat. "Yeah, there's a massive emergency I have to handle tonight."

She constantly used 'work emergencies' as an excuse to go out partying. Wynne was used to the routine and never pushed.

"Alright, just be safe on the roads," Wynne said softly.

"I will! You get some sleep, Mom. Your wounds are still healing. Don't stay up too late," Giselle practically sang, refusing to make eye contact with Winona as she grabbed her designer bag and bolted out the door.

Winona immediately pulled out her phone and texted Waldo: *Tail Giselle.*

She slipped her phone back into her pocket and spent the next hour chatting with Ryder and Wynne over fresh fruit.

Because the revelation of her true identity was still so raw, the dynamic between them lacked the effortless ease of the past. But Winona desperately wanted this to work. She knew that with time, they would seamlessly blend into the family they were always meant to be.

In the private room of a high-end restaurant, a stunning woman sat elegantly in a vintage dress. Her eyes were intoxicatingly soft, and a gentle smile played on her lips.

But the second Giselle walked into the room, a cold sweat broke out across her back.

"Daisy."

Daisy Falconer offered a slow, predatory smile. "You've gotten bold, Giselle. Keeping secrets from me now, are we?"

Giselle's hands clamped into white-knuckled fists. The memories of her darkest days abroad flooded her mind.
