Tallulah was completely stunned. She stared at Winona in disbelief.
"Winona, are you out of your mind?"
She lunged forward to hit back, but Ezra Vane stepped out from behind Winona and effortlessly blocked her.
"Just because you have a bodyguard, you think you can bully me?" Tallulah shrieked. "The organizers haven't even left yet! If I make a scene right now, you'll be the one losing face!"
Without a second's hesitation, Winona slapped her again.
"Go ahead and scream. There are security cameras all over this venue. Once they find out you tampered with my chair, you'll be blacklisted. Good luck ever getting invited to another summit again."
Tallulah paled. She was genuinely terrified of the organizers finding out what she did. Swallowing her pride, she glared venomously at Winona before spinning on her heel and storming off.
Winona watched her cowardly retreat, finding the whole thing both infuriating and laughable.
Tallulah really was like a leech—no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn't scrape her off.

On Friday evening, Winona and Stefan went back to have dinner with Nikita.
Since they got together, they made it a point to visit her once a week.
Nikita's attitude toward Stefan had grown incredibly warm. She used to worry that Winona was out of her depth dating someone from the Goddard family, terrified she'd be mistreated. Now, all those fears were completely gone.
Still, the traditional part of her worried about what his family thought.
During dinner, she asked Stefan, "Stefan, your whole family is in the Capital, and you're constantly commuting back and forth. Does your family not mind?"
Nikita's views on marriage were old-school; she believed a woman should live with or at least close to her husband's family.
Stefan replied smoothly, "My grandmother and mother don't even live together, so we don't really have that tradition. Besides, Winona's career is here in Riverton. I would never ask her to give that up just to move to the Capital for me."
