Winona’s palms were trembling and her throat was bone dry. “Something’s happened to Helena,” she stammered, her voice breaking. “And my grandmother… she fainted.”
“Let’s go check on her first,” Yulen said, quickly guiding her into his car.
As he was about to start the engine, a thought struck him, and he sent a quick text to his assistant: “Go pick up Tallulah and take her home.”
Only then did he start the car and head toward the hospital to see Nikita.

Nikita was already awake when they arrived, sitting on the bed in a daze. Greta was beside her, crying uncontrollably.
Winona wanted to ask what had happened but worried it would be too much for them. At the same time, she was frantic with worry about Helena.
Finally, Yulen broke the silence. “I’ll go to the police station to check on Helena and see what’s going on. Don’t worry. As long as I’m here, no one will mistreat her.”
Winona nodded, her throat too tight to do more than rasp, “Thank you.”
Despite all the friction between them, she was willing to pay any price if he could help Helena.
As if finally processing his words, Greta clung to Winona, sobbing. “Is my mom going to jail?”
She had seen her mother drive the knife into that woman’s stomach. If the woman died, would her mother go to prison? It was all her father’s fault. Why did he have to cheat? Why did he let that woman come to their home? Why would he do this to her mother?

The next day, when Yulen arrived, Winona immediately asked, “How are things with Helena?”
A flicker of emotion crossed Yulen’s eyes before he quickly composed himself. “With me handling it, she’ll be fine. The lawyer is already negotiating a settlement with the other party’s family. Helena should be out soon.”
Winona breathed a sigh of relief. “Can I see her?” she asked, needing to see with her own eyes that Helena was okay.
“The police haven’t approved family visits yet,” Yulen replied. “I’ll let you know the moment I hear anything.”
