The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 762

Sylvan was practically gift-wrapping an opportunity for them to be alone.

Winona cast a cool glance at Wesley. Seeing that he was indeed thoroughly intoxicated, she walked toward him.

Sylvan couldn't help but smirk.

He had planted the seed. If Wesley had any brains at all, he'd realize this was his chance to actively pursue Winona. With Wesley's charm and success, Sylvan refused to believe he couldn't steal her away.

When Winona reached the table, she didn't offer Wesley a hand. Instead, she pulled out her phone and called Waldo Vane, who was waiting near the entrance.

Waldo stepped into the dining hall.

"Take Mr. Hewitt home," Winona instructed.

"Understood."

Waldo grabbed Wesley by the arm, hauled him up, and led him toward the exit.

Watching the scene unfold, Sylvan felt a sharp pang of disappointment.

He marched over to Winona. "His devotion to you is actually quite moving. You've simply met too few men in your life, which is why Stefan was able to sweep you off your feet so easily. Why don't you give other guys a chance? Only when you compare your options will you know who the best man truly is."

Winona stared at him flatly. "I don't need to compare anyone. I already know Stefan is the best."

Sylvan scoffed, convinced she was just being naive. "You're too young to see it. If he really loved you, he wouldn't keep you locked away here in Riverton."

Not wanting to waste another breath on him, Winona turned on her heel and walked out.

The following evening, as she walked out of her office building, she spotted Wesley waiting by the entrance.

He offered a handsome smile. "I had a bit too much to drink yesterday. Thank you for having someone take me home."

He held out a gorgeous bouquet of red roses. "A small token of my appreciation."

"There's no need to thank me, Mr. Hewitt. It was nothing," she said coldly, refusing to take the flowers. "And I can't accept those. Please understand."
