"You should focus on managing your own husband first," Stefan replied, his tone chillingly detached. "If you can't even keep your marriage intact, how do you plan to maintain your prestigious image as Mrs. Goddard?"

Margaret was livid. She opened her mouth to scream another insult, but the line went dead. Shaking with fury, she hurled her phone across the room.

Winona Jowett, having overheard the exchange, reached out and wrapped her arms around him.

Stefan let out a soft, self-deprecating laugh. "I'm practically an expert at arguing with my mother now. I almost always get the upper hand."

"Winona, you must be getting close to your due date, right? How are you feeling? Any discomfort?" Sylvan asked, his eyes darting to her stomach.

Winona was mildly surprised that he was actually asking about her and the baby. After all, this was the same man who had once demanded she terminate the pregnancy.

"Just say what you came to say," Winona replied coldly. "Save the small talk."

Sylvan let out a heavy, dramatic sigh. "Don't be so cold to your father. I came here to discuss the allocation of shares in Scully Group."
