The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 842

Winona nodded. "Alright. There's a three-month probationary period. I hope you pass."

Yvonne's eyes lit up with emotion. "Thank you, Winona."

Winona stood up and shook her hand. "Welcome to the team, Yvonne. I look forward to working with you."

When Cheryl Goddard found out Winona's lab was officially in the works, she dropped by the office and treated her to lunch.

Seeing Karina Shepherd acting as Winona's assistant, Cheryl didn't hold back. "Karina has the attention span of a goldfish, and she's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Watch your back having her as an assistant, or she'll drag you down."

Karina glared at her. "Don't underestimate me, Cheryl. Winona practically vouched for me herself, and I've officially passed my probation! I'm going to be a top-tier researcher one day and blind you with my brilliance."

Cheryl feigned horror. "Then I'll make sure to avoid any medication you ever develop."

Karina puffed her cheeks, fuming.

Winona just shook her head with a resigned smile at their usual bickering.

The three of them headed to a nearby restaurant. Over the meal, Cheryl started venting about the upper management at Cirrus Beverages.

"They have zero skills but egos bigger than my dad's. It's unbelievable. I go to work at Cirrus every day and just swallow my anger. Trying to push a single project forward is like pulling teeth. They always have a million excuses for why things can't be done.

One time, I lost my patience and spoke a bit harshly, and they literally threw a tantrum in my office, claiming I was disrespecting my elders and threatening to vote me out of my VP position. Now I have to walk on eggshells and sweet-talk them into doing the bare minimum. I am exhausted."

Winona frowned. No wonder all the different factions in the Goddard and Shepherd families were fighting over the General Manager spot at Cirrus.

The executives were all nepo babies and cronies who only showed up for their massive paychecks and did absolutely zero actual work.

Stefan wanted to overhaul Cirrus, but he had way too much on his plate to deal with it right now.
