I had honestly given up and was ready to just raise my son on my own. But then, Renie had that terrible accident, and Orion and I finally got our happily ever after. Don't lose hope, Liana. Liana frowned. "But she's perfectly healthy. Why would she have an accident?"

"Who got you the bubble machine, sweetie?" she asked.

Winona turned to the nanny. "Who gave it to her?"

"We were at the park today, and a little boy came over and gave it to her," the nanny explained.

The machine had run out of liquid, so Winona had ordered some new bubble solution on a delivery app.

The courier dropped it off, and Winona brought it inside. She grabbed the bubble machine, ready to refill it.

But as she twisted the cap open, her highly trained sense of smell caught a harsh, chemical odor. She immediately froze.
