The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 876

Stefan pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Now that you're living in the Capital, I can bring it to you every single day."

He had always wanted to bring her the city's best local delicacies, but when she lived in Riverton, the food would lose its magic by the time it survived the flight.

Winona took another bite. "I thought I'd hate it here, but after living in the city for a while, I'm actually starting to love it."

Riverton felt like summer for three seasons of the year. The winters were mild, and she had never seen snow. The Capital was much colder, but it had four distinct seasons. When winter hit, she and Audrey had built snowmen together, and they'd had a blast.

Even Audrey insisted the Capital was more fun, adapting to the change even faster than Winona had.

Despite her reassurances, Stefan still felt a pang of guilt. She had grown up in Riverton; all her close friends and family were there. Moving to the Capital for him was a massive sacrifice for their family.

He wrapped his arms around her and asked softly, "I mentioned before that I wanted to sign the paperwork to make all my assets joint property. I want everything under my name to legally belong to both of us. When are you free to come with me and sign?"

Winona couldn't help but laugh. "Your mother will lose her mind."

"She has no say in my decisions," Stefan replied firmly.

Ever since taking the helm of the Goddard Group, Stefan had paved his own path. It was a miracle Margaret hadn't actively sabotaged him.

Winona figured if she kept refusing, Stefan might start thinking she didn't fully trust him. She nodded. "Alright. I'm free Tuesday afternoon. I'll go with you."
