The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 88

Her words were heartfelt, but they made Winona feel sick to her stomach. "Please get out. You are not welcome here."

Tallulah couldn't help but speak up for Faye. "Winona, there's no right or wrong in matters of the heart. Since they're truly in love, maybe Helena should be the one to let go."

Just then, Helena, having heard the commotion from the bedroom, came out. The sight of Faye sent her into a rage, and she lunged forward to strike her.

In the ensuing chaos, Tallulah shoved Helena, who fell to the ground, hit her head, and passed out.

Consumed by fury, Winona slapped Tallulah across the face.

Yulen emerged from the bathroom just in time to see it happen. Seeing the red mark on Tallulah's cheek, he turned on Winona, demanding, "Are you insane? How could you hit Tallulah?"

Winona stared at her unconscious aunt, in no mood to argue. She just wanted them gone. "Get out! And don't ever come back!"

But Yulen grabbed her wrist, his tone firm. "You hit her. The least you can do is apologize to Tallulah."

"It's okay, Yulen," Tallulah said, sounding hurt. "It doesn't hurt, and I know Winona didn't mean it."

Meanwhile, Faye had already slipped away, leaving Winona with no way to even explain what had happened.

Rhea stepped in, shouting at them, "What is wrong with you, Yulen? Helena just passed out, and you want to stand here arguing about who's right and wrong? If this woman is more important to you than Winona's own family, then why don't you just set Winona free?"

"I…" Yulen was at a loss for words, unable to find an excuse.

Ignoring them, Winona and Rhea carried Helena back to her room.

Yulen left with Tallulah. Once they were in the car, he asked, "Why did you suddenly show up?"

He then turned to Winona. "Winona, you'll be part of this project as well."

"Okay," she nodded. "I'll do my best."

Eloise, who hadn't been chosen, was furious. She didn't think she was any less capable than Winona, so why did Winona get all the good opportunities so effortlessly while she was always passed over?

That evening, she met up with Daphne and Tallulah for drinks and told them about it.

Tallulah raised an eyebrow. "You're saying she's joining a Goddard Group project? Does she even have the skills for that?"

Eloise sneered. "What skills could she possibly have? I'd like to see what happens when she messes up."

An idea sparked in Tallulah's mind. If she could make Winona cause a major mistake during the research phase, could she destroy Winona's career for good?
