Karina chimed in, "Since I started working with Ms. Jowett, she's never hurt a fly. I'm certain there's been a massive misunderstanding."

"What misunderstanding?" Glenda fired back. "Didn't Margaret get injured right there in her office?"

Glenda turned her sharp gaze to Daisy. "You were there. Tell us exactly how Margaret got hurt."

Daisy hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I accidentally triggered a voice memo on my phone, so I actually have a recording of Margaret and Winona's argument. I originally didn't want to bring it up, but I can't bear seeing Margaret lying injured in a hospital bed without even receiving a proper apology."

Daisy pulled up the audio file and hit play. The harsh sounds of Winona and Margaret's argument filled the room.

Just before the recording ended, Margaret's voice shrilled out: "Winona Jowett, I don't believe you'd actually smash that vase over my head! Do it! I dare you!"

Then came the sickening sound of shattering porcelain.

Followed by a piercing scream.

Daisy paused the recording and looked at Winona with a heavy sigh. "Winona, I know we can't blame you entirely for this. People do crazy things in the heat of the moment when their adrenaline is rushing."
