The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 884

Stefan's brow furrowed in frustration. "Mom, you know exactly how you injured your own head. And let me make something very clear to you: stop associating with Daisy. Last night, every single caregiver was conveniently lured away from your room, and your IV was spiked with sodium nitrite. You almost died. Do you understand that?"

A flicker of fear crossed Margaret's eyes, but she stubbornly clung to her delusions, convinced Winona was the mastermind.

"It was Winona who did it, wasn't it? She's the only person here who despises me. Stefan, open your eyes and see this woman for what she truly is!"

Stefan's tone was flat and unyielding. "If Winona hadn't caught it in time and called the doctors to save you, you wouldn't even be breathing right now, let alone running your mouth. Mom, I suggest you take a hard look at who actually cares about you and who is using you. Stop letting people manipulate you into making stupid decisions."

Margaret ignored every word of reason. All she saw was a son siding with the enemy. Her heart burned with jealousy and resentment toward Winona.

"Since you choose to believe her over your own mother, then don't ever come see me again. I'll just pretend I never gave birth to such an ungrateful son."

Stefan didn't argue. He simply turned and walked out, taking Winona with him.

Margaret was so enraged she nearly blacked out. She was convinced her own son wanted her dead.

Once they were outside the hospital, Winona looked at him. "What's your plan?"

"My mother would rather trust Daisy than me right now. Talking to her is useless. I need to have a word with Uncle Orion..."

Before he could finish his sentence, his phone rang. It was Orion Goddard.

"Stefan, I have wonderful news. Daisy is pregnant. We're getting our marriage license and throwing a wedding as soon as possible. You'll give us your blessing, right? She is going to be your aunt, and I expect you to respect her just as you respect me."

Stefan's expression turned dangerously cold. Daisy announcing her pregnancy at this exact moment wasn't a coincidence. She knew that with a baby in the picture, Orion would protect her from any fallout, regardless of what crimes she had committed.

She had calculated this perfectly.
