Winona instructed the nanny to put Audrey to bed, then grabbed her keys and headed straight for the hospital.
After retrieving her ID from the nurse's station, she quietly pushed open the door to Margaret's room.
The room was dead silent. There wasn't a single private caregiver or nurse in sight.
Something felt horribly wrong. Winona approached the bed. Margaret was still unconscious, but her face was far more pallid than it had been that afternoon, and her lips had taken on a faint, terrifying shade of purple.
Without hesitating, Winona slammed the emergency call button and immediately ripped the IV line out of Margaret's arm.
Doctors and nurses rushed into the room. Taking one look at Margaret's deteriorating vitals, they urgently wheeled her out and rushed her to the ICU.
Winona carefully secured the IV bag, ensuring no one touched it.
She then turned to Ezra Vane and ordered him to round up every single caregiver and nanny assigned to the room.
When they were dragged back in, they looked startled to see Winona there. They huddled together, shifting nervously.
Winona let out a chilling laugh, radiating an aura of absolute, unyielding authority.
"Let's hear it. Where exactly were all of you just now?"
Her icy demeanor was a mirror image of Stefan's when he was furious.
The caregivers began to tremble, exchanging fearful glances before dropping their heads, too terrified to speak.
When they remained silent, Winona turned to Ezra. "Have someone pull the hallway security footage. And get this IV bag tested immediately to see if it's been tampered with."
Ezra nodded. He took the IV bag, stepped outside to hand it off to Waldo Vane with strict instructions, and promptly returned to stand like a sentinel beside Winona.
Winona's piercing gaze swept over the huddled group.
Finally, one of the women cracked under the pressure. "We didn't want to leave! Carmela told us to go grab some late-night food. She said she'd stay behind and keep an eye on Mrs. Goddard. We had no idea she left too!"
Several others chimed in, quickly pointing fingers at Carmela.
