Winona switched off the group chat and called security.
It took them two long hours to find the key and let her out. By then, Winona was too exhausted to say a word. She hailed a cab and went straight home, collapsing into bed and falling into a deep sleep the moment her head hit the pillow.

The next day when she arrived at the office, she immediately noticed her colleagues giving her strange looks. Confused, Winona walked over to her desk and sat down.
Daphne marched up to her, her voice sharp with accusation. "Winona, did you delete the data from Tallulah's computer? That's going too far! So what if she accidentally spilled some latte on your documents yesterday? How could you retaliate by deleting such important data? None of it was backed up! You've destroyed all her hard work."
Winona frowned, refusing to be wrongly accused. "I never even touched her computer," she explained.
"We were all at the team dinner last night. You were the only one in the office. If it wasn't you, who else could it be?"
Winona looked over and saw Tallulah at her desk, sobbing with red-rimmed eyes while a few colleagues comforted her. She walked over to Tallulah. "You don't even know something as basic as backing up your data? How did you become the director of Locke Group's R&D department? Besides, your computer should have a log of when the data was deleted. Just open it up and check. I was in the lab until ten last night, and the security cameras can prove my alibi."
Tallulah just rubbed her eyes and said nothing.
Daphne stepped in, fiercely protective. "Stop trying to intimidate Tallulah. You skipped the team dinner last night specifically so you could stay behind and cause trouble, didn't you? And you also broke her computer—it won't even turn on now. I just asked security, and they said the cameras in the lab and the office were turned off last night. You must have arranged that beforehand."
Winona scoffed. "If I wanted to delete her data, why would I pick a time when everyone was out and I was the only one here? And this is Goddard Group. Do you really think I have the authority to just switch the security cameras on and off? Do you think I'm some kind of all-powerful puppet master?"
Without waiting for a reply, she left Daphne standing there with a face livid with anger.
She met up with Rhea for dinner later that evening.
After hearing what happened, Rhea was furious. "They're unbelievable! Anyone can see this is a setup. I bet Tallulah deleted the data herself and is using Daphne to get rid of you. She's truly vicious. So what are you going to do? Should you ask Stefan for help? He seems to like you, doesn't he?"
"My conscience is clear. They have no evidence, so they can't do anything to me," Winona said calmly. "Besides, this is Goddard Group, not Locke Group. No matter what schemes Tallulah tries to pull, she won't get her way that easily."
Seeing that Winona had a handle on the situation, Rhea felt reassured.
