The Wife He Forgot to Marry novel Chapter 90

"That's different," Nolan said. "Winona is merely Mr. Harper's representative. With him overseeing things, we're quite confident. On your end, however, I'm concerned..."

Yulen felt his suspicions were confirmed. Jericho really had guided Winona's presentation today.

He spoke again, "Rest assured, Tallulah's abilities are second to none. I can personally vouch for her."

Nolan didn't understand why Yulen had such unwavering faith in Tallulah. However, as the project lead, he had to manage risk.

"Since you put it that way, I'll trust you. But if she makes any mistakes during the research process, she must be replaced immediately."

Yulen didn't find the request unreasonable. "Agreed."

Once the project started, Winona had to report to the Goddard Group branch office every day. She would arrive at her workstation and immediately start reviewing materials, eager to push the project forward as quickly as possible.

It was nearly ten o'clock when Tallulah finally sauntered in. She was dressed in an elegant Chanel suit and high heels, a stark contrast to everyone else's simple attire.

Tallulah greeted everyone with a smile. "I've ordered lattes and cake for everyone, and they should be here soon. I look forward to working with all of you."

Most of the R&D members on the Goddard Group side were men, and they were quickly charmed by the sweet and smiling Tallulah.

Winona ignored them and continued with her work.

After the lattes arrived, Tallulah personally brought a cup over and placed it on Winona's desk. Whether her hand slipped or she did it on purpose, the latte tipped over and splashed across Winona’s keyboard and notes.

An entire morning's worth of organized notes was ruined. Winona shot up from her chair, glaring at Tallulah in fury.

Seeing how everyone had been won over by Tallulah, Winona found the situation laughable. She had to admire Tallulah's talent for winning people over.

Not wanting to argue any further, she lowered her head and began cleaning her desk. The notes were soaked and would need to be reprinted. The keyboard was malfunctioning, and she wasn't sure if it could be fixed.

After that, people from both Goddard Group and Locke Group started freezing Winona out. Even her colleagues from her own lab were affected, muttering complaints about her.

Winona ignored the office politics and remained completely focused on her work.

At ten o'clock that night, she emerged from the Goddard Group lab to find the office empty and the door locked from the outside. She took out her phone to call building security but stopped when she saw a photo a colleague had just posted in the group chat.

It was a picture of a team dinner. In the photo, Tallulah was holding a small piece of cake, and Yulen sat beside her, looking at her with unmistakable affection.
