The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1376

Right at that moment, the sound of a key turning echoed from the front door.

Kirsten froze, her heart skipping a heavy beat.

The door swung open, and Gian walked in. He was still wearing the tailored suit from the gala, his collar slightly loosened, an undeniable exhaustion clinging to him.

And right behind him was Miss Gaylord. The red handprint on her face had mostly faded. She wore an elegant, understated dress and carried her sheet music bag.

Both of them stopped in their tracks when they saw the open suitcase in the living room and Kirsten standing at the door to her bedroom.

Gian's gaze locked onto Kirsten, a flash of shock passing through his eyes.

He opened his mouth as if he wanted to speak, but the words seemed to fail him.

Kirsten looked at the two of them standing side by side. They looked perfect together, a match made in heaven.

A cold, sharp smile crept onto her lips.

The divorce cooling-off period wasn't even over yet, and he was already bringing another woman back to the place they had called home.

How lovely.

Kirsten lowered her head, shoving the clothes in her hands into the suitcase. Her voice was terrifyingly calm, completely devoid of emotion. "I just came to pack some things. I'll be out of your way in a minute."

Miss Gaylord finally snapped out of her daze. Her eyes widened in shock as she looked back and forth between Kirsten and Gian. "You... you two know each other? You lived together?"

Suddenly, everything clicked. It made perfect sense why Gian had asked her to teach Kirsten how to play the piano, and why his tone had always carried a complicated, indescribable weight whenever he mentioned her.

Gian's Adam's apple bobbed. His gaze locked onto Kirsten's back, his voice low and raspy. "We're already divorced."

The words were spoken softly, yet they struck Kirsten like a jagged knife burying itself deep in her chest.

Her fingers tightened around the fabric of her shirt until her knuckles turned white.

Right. They were already divorced. They had signed the papers. All they had to do was wait out the thirty-day cooling-off period, and they would officially be nothing to each other.

Kirsten let out a short, mocking laugh, but she refused to turn around.

Sensing the suffocating tension in the room, Miss Gaylord quickly tried to smooth things over. She offered Kirsten an apologetic smile. "Ms. Delaney, I am so sorry. I honestly had no idea about your relationship."
