Hassan was still on the phone. His voice was completely detached. "Put it on the table and get out."

Natalie leaned lazily against the doorframe, amused. The mother-daughter duo had severely miscalculated.

While it was true that Hassan was a cheater, before Gardenia came along, he had never touched another woman. He didn't even show a shred of interest.

It was safe to say he only had eyes for Gardenia.

Jessica looked thoroughly unwilling to give up. Her voice dropped an octave, turning even softer and far more suggestive. "Mr. Carlson, I know you're busy with work, but you have to take care of your health. It's so late..."

Hassan murmured a few final responses into his phone, hung up, and shifted his cool gaze toward Natalie.

In the past, this was the exact moment Natalie would have exploded, storming over to fiercely defend her territory.

But now, she just stood there, watching him.

Like she was watching a cheap soap opera.

Hassan lowered his gaze, his tone flat. "Got it."

To Jessica's surprise, he actually reached out, picked up the bowl, and took a sip.

He looked down, his voice softening just a fraction. "It's pretty good."

Jessica's face lit up instantly. "I'll give the recipe to my mom so she can make it for you again! I've come up with a lot of really great health recipes. I'd love to make them for you sometime, Mr. Carlson."

Framed by the glittering night sky outside the windows, the two of them genuinely looked like they were sharing an intimate, domestic moment.

Natalie listened to the exchange with zero reaction, grabbed her body lotion, and turned back toward the bathroom.

Jessica, entirely swept up in the rare sliver of warmth from the imposing man, desperately wanted to keep the conversation going.

But just as she opened her mouth, Hassan's expression snapped back to ice. His voice was freezing. "Get out."

Jessica froze, utterly terrified. "Mr. Carlson... did I do something wrong?"

While Natalie was in the shower, she vaguely heard some commotion outside.

When she stepped out, she found Mary mopping the bedroom floor.
